Horizons 2024 and Remembering Marcia Bixby

Dear Colleagues,

I want to express my sincere thanks to the organizers of the 2024 Horizons Conference held this eek in Portland, ME! I understand the event was a huge success and we are all proud of the efforts of the people that made this possible!

A couple of personal notes:

Shout out to our Board Members Joanne Rosato for and Colleen Ryan being the GBC representatives that have championed this event year after year. We appreciate you!

I want to recognize Marcia Bixby, in her sad absence, because she was truly the glue between GBC AACN and the Horizons Event for over 12 years. Her dedication to programs like this are a call to action for the rest of us and I hope her legacy will inspire a continued commitment to the next Horizons!

I have attached one of my favorite pictures of Marcia and the words I would have liked to shared at the event had my schedule allowed. Kate Walles assured me the address would be read and I hope it captures the feelings that you would want me to represent our Chapter.
